VANAS (2011)

it is made of metal wire, metal nets, glass shoes, organic materials, sunflower seeds. It is a sight to East from West, a modern "Chinoiserie", a meeting of two cultures represented by two women swinging in two swings, one is Chinese and one Western.

Both lost their "love"... So they are without love and without body.

It is the vanity, the essence of the appearance.

Both figures are linked to death by things and common sentiments, here represented by the decorations of the clothes made with organic elements (nests, feathers and legs of birds), evidence of a fleeting existence.

Chinoiseries are inspired by traditional cultures and costumes, but they keep in touch with the present events not only necessarily from the political point of view, they refer to contemporary Chinese art as seen from a western person.

Also the performance, is part of the work VANAS - Vincit Omnia Vanitas, Vanity conquers all. Some International Newspapers followed my performance during the opening ceremony, when I filled the floor with sunflower seeds and one hundred shoes made of Murano glass.
